About ByaktiKosh

Discover the People of Nepal

ByaktiKosh (व्यक्तिकोश) is a Nepal-focused people and personalities discovery platform that brings together information about Nepalese individuals living in Nepal and around the world.

From politicians, artists, musicians, and athletes to entrepreneurs, educators, scientists, journalists, and historical figures, ByaktiKosh helps people discover, explore, and learn about individuals from different fields and backgrounds.

ByaktiKosh is an independent project within the Nepalwide.org ecosystem, dedicated to making information about Nepalese people more organized, accessible, and easier to explore.

What We Do

ByaktiKosh provides structured profiles of Nepalese people and personalities, bringing together relevant public information in one place.

Depending on the information available, a profile may include:

• Personal information: Name, known names, date of birth, birthplace, and other biographical details.
• Professions and roles: Occupations, current and previous positions, and professional involvements.
• Background and achievements: Introduction, career information, education, achievements, and notable contributions.
• Organizations and affiliations: Associations with institutions, companies, political parties, and other organizations.
• Official online presence: Official websites, social media accounts, and other relevant public links.
• Related information: Connections to other people, places, projects, and relevant content.
• Sources and references: Available references to help users explore and verify information.

Our goal is to make it easier to understand who someone is, what they do, what they are known for, and where to find more information about them.

Search, Browse and Discover

ByaktiKosh is designed for more than searching for a particular name.

Users can explore people through different categories and discover individuals based on their professions, roles, affiliations, and other available information.

For example, someone interested in Nepalese politics can browse politicians and filter profiles by political party, age, or living status. Similarly, users can explore people associated with music, entertainment, sports, business, education, and other fields.

A person may be involved in several professions or fields. ByaktiKosh brings these different aspects together under one profile, helping users understand the broader identity and contributions of an individual.

Connecting People Across Nepalwide.org

ByaktiKosh is also designed to connect people with relevant content across the Nepalwide.org ecosystem.

A radio presenter featured in ByaktiKosh may be connected to their radio programs on ShrotaHub. An actor may be connected to their appearances on MakaiBreak or DarshakHub. A singer, musician, or lyricist may be connected to music-related content on GeetBreak.

Similarly, authors may be connected to BookAlaya, educators to EduAlaya, and public figures to relevant news coverage on KhabarKhoji.

These connections help users move beyond a person's basic profile and explore their work, contributions, and presence across different fields.

Our broader goal is to create a connected people knowledge system where the same individual can be consistently identified across Nepalwide.org projects.

Our Purpose

Nepalese people have contributed to politics, governance, arts, culture, entertainment, sports, business, science, education, technology, and many other fields, both within Nepal and internationally.

ByaktiKosh aims to make information about these individuals easier to find, understand, and explore.

We want to provide a common place where people can discover personalities they already know, learn about individuals they have never encountered, and explore the connections between people and their contributions.

Our Vision

Our long-term vision is to build a comprehensive, connected knowledge platform for Nepalese people and personalities.

We envision ByaktiKosh as a central people directory within Nepalwide.org, connecting individuals with their professions, achievements, organizations, places, and relevant content across the wider ecosystem.

As the platform grows, we aim to expand its coverage, improve the quality of information, and make discovering Nepalese people increasingly useful and accessible.
