Deepak Raj Giri became known for social and political satire, comedy that comments on real people and events, through the sitcom Tito Satya. He wrote, directed, and starred in this show for 12 years on Nepal Television.
He later moved into film. He wrote and led the Chhakka Panja series. It became one of the highest-grossing film franchises in Nepali cinema history. He has also won a National Film Award for Best Actor. He won this for his role in Chha Maya Chhapakkai.
