About
Renu Dahal joined the Maoist movement in the mid-1990s. She went underground as a full-time party member, before the insurgency ended. In 2008, she entered electoral politics as a Constituent Assembly member.
She went on to win election as mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City twice, in 2017 and 2022. In January 2026, she resigned this post. She ran for parliament from Chitwan 3, in that year’s general election.
