Shrijana Ghising

Shrijana Ghising came through the same fledgling, new and still developing, Nepali Para taekwondo programme that produced her teammate Palesha Goverdhan. In December 2022, she made history of her own. She won the World Taekwondo Para Grand Prix Finals, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This was the first time an athlete from Nepal had ever stood atop the podium at a major international sporting event. She won the final in dominant fashion, defeating the reigning world number one, Turkey’s Meryem Cavdar, 12–0.
