Sobita Gautam emerged as one of the most recognisable young leaders of the Rastriya Swatantra Party since it was founded in 2022. She won a seat in the House of Representatives in the party’s first election.
After the RSP’s landslide win in the 2026 general election, she was appointed Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, in Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s cabinet.
