दशरथ चन्द

Also known as Dasharath Chand Thakuri

One of the four martyrs of the Nepalese revolution against Rana rule

About

Dashrath Chand Thakuri was born in Baitadi District, in Nepal’s far west. He was educated in India’s Kumaon region. He then returned home to help start a political revolution. The revolution aimed to end the Rana regime’s total control of the country. He joined the secret group Nepal Praja Parishad.

The authorities discovered the group. They arrested Chand and his fellow revolutionaries. In January 1941, the Rana regime executed him by shooting.
