One of the four martyrs of the Nepalese revolution against Rana rule

About

Ganga Lal Shrestha, born to a government official in Ramechhap, excelled academically at Durbar High School and Tri-Chandra College before joining the clandestine Nepal Praja Parishad, a revolutionary group formed in 1939 to end Rana rule and establish democracy in Nepal. After the organisation was exposed to the authorities, he was executed by shooting at Shobha Bhagwati in January 1941, becoming one of the four martyrs of the Nepalese revolution.
