About
Yuba Raj Khatiwada built a career at the centre of Nepal’s economic policymaking. He joined Nepal Rastra Bank in 1983. He rose to become its governor, from 2010 to 2015.
He later entered politics directly. He served as Minister of Finance under Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli, from 2018 to 2020. He also briefly served as Minister of Information and Communications. He capped his career with a term as Nepal’s Ambassador to the United States, in 2021. Throughout his career, he was known for a reputation as a champion of financial discipline.
